For as long as I can remember, I have loved water! Early in life, my father passed on to us his love for swimming. I remember enjoying our trips to the river "Cuja" in my native Colombia and looking forward to spending the weekends by a swimming pool. Later, as a young adult, taking my PADI scuba diving certification brought me another level of appreciation for the ocean. Being in the water (or close to it) has always brought me enormous joy and a feeling of being one with the universe.
The life force of the ocean is fascinating to me; the colors and feelings one can experience are endless and poetic. In particular, the sea waves are one of the beautiful natural marvels that excite me.
There is so much going on as we see energy passing through water, causing it to move in a circular motion. Whether we see the shallow turquoise, wild indigo, deep blue, stormy milky brown, or even the pink-violet orange at sunset; whether it means warmth, vastness and infinite depth, majestic and massive, gentle or idyllic, it is impossible to deny the powerful imagery of the sea.
How about you? Do you feel a connection with nature and the universe through water or another element?
This painting is part of a series that I am currently working on and will be posting on my site soon.
Love,
Angela
